Learnerships are structured training programs that combine theoretical learning provided by Trainers without Borders with practical work experience gained with an employer. This learning experience is designed to enable learners to achieve a national qualification. The awarding of the qualification is both theoretically and practically based.
Anyone can apply for a learnership. Learnerships are available for both employed and unemployed learners and are not restricted to any occupation or age group. There is no fee charged for a person to be on a learnership. The employer must pay a learner allowance to unemployed learners selected for a learnership. The duration of a learnership takes a minimum of one year
